Wrigley's Spearmint Gum - "Carry the Big Fresh Flavor" (Commercial, 1974)

By Wildcat in General 25 views 7th November 2019 Video Duration: N/A
Here's one of the more memorable (and oft-parodied) commercial campaigns for Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. This takes place in and around an airport, with flight crew and passengers carrying large Wrigley's Spearmint Gum boxes. Notice at the start, jet planes displaying the Piedmont Airlines brand (this Piedmont was in existence from 1948 to 1989, and subsequently absorbed by USAir; today's Piedmont was instituted in 1993).

"Carry the big fresh flavor, wherever you go, whatever you do."

This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, January 12th 1974.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,700+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at:

The Last of the Mohicans is a 1992 historical epic film set in 1757 during the French and Indian War and produced by Morgan Creek Pictures. It was directed by Michael Mann and based on James Fenimore Cooper's novel of the same name and George B. Seitz's 1936 film adaptation, owing more to the latter than the novel. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, and Jodhi May, with Russell Means, Wes Studi, Eric Schweig, and Steven Waddington in supporting roles.

The soundtrack features music by Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman, and the song "I Will Find You" by Clannad. The main theme of the film is taken from the tune "The Gael" by Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean. Released on September 25, 1992, in the United States, The Last of the Mohicans was met with nearly-universal praise from critics as well as being commercially successful during its box-office run.

Reworked 2014 video again uploaded like the Kelstern one previously in an attempt to start to shift my backlog...

And to whomever gave me the thumbs down to the Kelstern video...please do me a big favour and don't bother to watch if you don't like what I do - or better still do something radical and start making your own videos the way You think they should be done

Mark Newman and I visited former RAF Skipton on Swale on the 30th July 2013 to see who we could communicate with in spirit and also conduct a PSB7 Session in or near the former WW2 Watch Office

Again another atmospheric, past memory filled airfield with a lot of spirits wandering about, but happy, comradely chaps who seemed to just want to be there

Of note was the recorder switching itself off 3 times despite changing to new batteries before I finally managed to record a session...... someone was having some fun at our expense 8)
