Staff Sgt. Kevin Paul, member of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" and co-creator of Military Trumpet Jobs, performs the trumpet solo from Summon the Heroes, by John Williams. This excerpt is requested on just about every audition for a military band.

Audition tips: Internalize the surrounding parts and play this solo freely with lots of expression. Be very confident. Panels will be looking for good time, endurance, and a beautiful full sound. Hopefully this gives you a little insight on how to win an audition!
