The same few lyrics repeated over and over, and the same riff repeated over and over - why does this kind of thing get so much more commercial traction than the original?

Must admit im a bit of a heathen as i never really liked Maiden, prefered Metallica and Anthrax at the time.

In all honesty I'm exactly the same - I have always preferred the edgier stuff, so Maiden and AC/DC were never really on the radar, whereas Anthrax,In all honesty I'm exactly the same - I have always preferred the edgier stuff, so Maiden and AC/DC were never really on the radar, whereas Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, Slayer and Metallica always made the playlist.
Still mean what I said though - Maiden is classic and unmatchable in the scope of their musicianship and skill, and I expect to see them respected.  More ...

Preferred Testament to Slayer and couldnt get into Nuclear Assault. Now im into much mellower music, Drowning Pool, Manson, 5FDP etc

This is so bad i just had to share it!, fear of the dark is good one of maidens best song mho, i too are more into metallic acdc etc
