Amarino reacted to this post about 5 months agoMorning all, thought I would share an update on how am doing. Total shite an that’s me being polite! After the last lot of medication caused the dvt, I was put on a high dose of steroids which were brilliant. I had all this energy an was out in garden doing all sorts, stuff I haven’t managed in donkeys years due to me other health problems. The steroids had dulled me fibromyalgia pain so I were happy. Am not stupid, I know u can’t stay long term on the dose am on. Anyways, after being on them for about 10 days it all went tits up! I developed steroid psychosis! I were having total meltdowns, anxiety attacks, head completely mushed up, no idea what was going on. Trying to explain to folk that I couldn’t control it but I had no clue what the hell was happening till I messaged my consultant who was away in Hong Kong. She immediately got in touch with a colleague who reduced the dose by 20 mg. It’s helped a little bit, I reduce again next week by 5mg and carry on reducing till am off it. There is other medication they are gonna try but tbh, am shitting meself as I have such a long list of allergies 😱 They did more bloods which showed me potassium had dropped, I were having severe cramps all over me body and really bad palpitations, so more stuff for that. The cramps have eased a bit but me old ticker is going thru the roof recording atrial fibrillation, tachycardia an unreadable but am at freemans end of month so hopefully they can sort out that problem. I had a pet scan last Monday as they were checking for cancer but got results yesterday that’s clear so a bit of good news there. Anyways, sorry for the really long post but now ur all up to date on why ave bin exctinct. Hope to see u all soon.Comments (15)

Dodo commented on this post about 6 months agoSeems as tho I spoke too soon. Back at the hospital today, consultant has stopped the new meds as I have developed DVT and severe cramps all over my body. Bin put on blood thinners, ct scan on Monday and back to consultant on Tuesday 😭Comments (12)
